Exactly what the engine does and does not do.

Published in full, including the limits. Pitch-shifting is a domain where vague claims are worthless — you need to know the boundaries before you commit a delivery to it.

Engine	Apple `AVAudioUnitTimePitch` for time-preserving shifts, `AVAudioUnitVarispeed` for sampler-style shifts. Stock quality settings — no custom algorithm or overlap tuning.
Range	±6 semitones, always taking the shorter path around the circle of fifths. The engine guard is ±24.
Input	WAV and AIFF only
Output	WAV (16, 24 or 32-bit; 32 = float) or MP3 320 for delivery. Sample rate and channel count pass through on WAV output.
Platform	macOS only
Formant preservation	Not supported. The capability struct reports `false`, and a unit test asserts it does not over-claim.

The honest ceiling

Only varispeed is genuinely transparent, and it changes length. Length-preserving pitch shift requires resynthesis, which is inherently non-transparent — that is true of every tool, not just this one. Results vary by source material, interval and settings, so audition before delivery. Enhanced loudness matching, formant controls, MP3 output and the Rubber Band engine are built but held for a future licensed release.

"How does the pitch quality compare to manual transposition in my DAW?"

Key Shift Pro uses professional-grade pitch algorithms tuned for music audio — comparable to dedicated pitch-shifting plugins. For most sync and library submissions, the quality difference from manual DAW processing is inaudible.

"Can it process multiple source files at once?"

Yes. Batch mode lets you queue multiple source files and run the full key set across all of them in one operation. Especially useful for catalog delivery with consistent naming across dozens of tracks.

"Do I need Export Flow too, or does Key Shift Pro handle delivery naming on its own?"

Key Shift Pro handles key-suffix naming automatically. For full delivery validation — client-specific naming rules, required-deliverable checklists, version confirmation and preflight — pair it with Export Flow. Both work independently or together.
